Types of Services
Diets Don’t Work® provides
individual sessions, eating disorder outpatient programs, aftercare,
support groups, and an extended care home. Out–of-area
clients can reside in structured, semi-structured, or unstructured
environments depending on the level of care necessary while
attending
our outpatient programs. I. Individual Diets Don't Work® Sessions
The initial assessment and interview
allows the counselor and client to tailor a program to meet
the individual’s unique requirements. To date, there
are thirty structured sessions used on an individual basis.
Each session includes structured materials, homework assignments,
self-awareness, insights, and guided imagery or hypnosis
to reinforce new thought and behavior patterns that work
uniquely for each individual.
II. Eating Disorder
Outpatient Programs™
Our Eating Disorder Outpatient Program™ is four days a week for four hours
a day. Click
here for schedule. Our Outpatient Programs are ideally
suited for individuals who have children in school, have daycare
available, or work nights. The programs help clients to get
back in touch with their Self and internalize their
own controls. The homework assignments allow the clients to
see their progress
as their self-awareness, understanding, and healing take place.
The groups are conducted in a supportive, relaxed, and nurturing
environment where healing can be shared. Lunch is included
and provides an opportunity to discuss feelings around the
eating experience. Guided imagery allows the client the
opportunity to get comfortable with Self and explore
a life free of the distortions of disordered eating.
III. Rebecca's House
Rebecca's House is an Extended Care home centrally located in a quiet, secluded neighborhood. It provides a health conscious and serene environment while recovering from disordered eating. Many of our clients suffering from eating disorders have completed some form of primary treatment. Other individuals need structure and support away from their home environment, but don't fit the criteria for in-patient treatment. Both types of clients do well at Rebecca's House. There are many optional activities such as swimming, cooking classes, sewing, massages, and gardening—all in a warm atmosphere of recovering women helping each other. For more information see Rebecca's House.
V. Aftercare Program
We are committed to making the transition
from the
Diets Don't Work® program
to continuing-care professionals and resources as easy as
possible. We work
closely with referring professionals both during treatment
and after. After completion of the Diets
Don't Work® program,
clients and their families can return at no cost to our
Family Group for additional support and guidance. Additionally,
this website provides clients with a continuing connection
to our program from any location that has Internet access.
Check back often for information
about our upcoming online sessions, available resources,

VI. Online Sessions
Diets Don't Work® will soon
provide online sessions through this website for
those who are physically unable to attend our outpatient
programs or
individual sessions. Please check back for information on
when these sessions will be available.
